Fertility care is deeply personal. My approach is centered on understanding each patient as an individual and supporting the body in a way that is both grounded and responsive.

Why I Focus on Fertility

Fertility is one of the most personal and meaningful experiences in a person's life.

Over the years, I’ve worked with many patients navigating this process — often while balancing demanding schedules, emotional stress, and the uncertainty that can come with trying to conceive.

This work matters to me because I’ve seen how meaningful it is to support someone through this stage with care, consistency, and attention.

What I Do in Practice

In my practice, I focus on helping the body function more optimally to support fertility.

This includes identifying patterns of imbalance and deficiency, and working to restore balance through acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine.

Many of my patients are also working with fertility specialists, and treatment is designed to support the body alongside those medical approaches.

An Individualized Approach

No two patients are the same, and treatment is never one-size-fits-all.

Care begins with a detailed understanding of your history, your symptoms, and how your body is functioning as a whole.

From there, treatment is adjusted over time based on how your body responds, with the goal of creating steady and meaningful progress.

How I Work With Fertility Patients

Most patients who find me have already been through more than they expected — more cycles, more appointments, more seasons of trying than they planned for. Some come after years. Some come after a cycle that didn't result in pregnancy. Some come because they've done everything their doctor suggested and still want to feel like they're doing something.

I don't need you to explain why it took this long to reach out. I just want to understand where you are right now — and build care around that.

In practice, that means reviewing your labs, staying in contact with your care team, and adjusting your treatment as your cycle changes — not running a fixed protocol regardless of how you're doing.

Training and Background

Edie Uchida, L.Ac., MAOM, Dipl. OM, Dipl. Ac., Dipl. C.H.

What do all those abbreviations mean? They're shorthand for a Master's degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and three national board certifications through the NCCAOM — in Oriental Medicine, Acupuncture, and Chinese Herbology — plus my Hawaii state license to practice.

I've been in practice for over 20 years — 18 of those focused specifically on fertility care.

A significant part of what shaped my clinical approach came from working directly alongside reproductive endocrinologist Dr. Celia Dominguez. That wasn't a course or a certification — it was years inside a clinical setting, watching how acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine affect the reproductive system in real time, alongside the imaging and lab work to confirm what we were seeing.

I carry that into my practice today. When I work with you, I'm reviewing your actual ultrasound reports and lab results — not treating you based on what you or I remember from your last appointment. It changes what I can do for you.

Clinically, we've seen patients with very low antral follicle counts — a marker of ovarian reserve — show meaningful improvement over the course of consistent acupuncture, herbal medicine, and dietary support. Every body is different, and I'll never tell you otherwise. But I share that as context for what this medicine can do when treatment is responsive to what's actually happening in your body.

You're welcome here

Reaching out when you're in the middle of something this personal isn't easy.

I want you to know that wherever you are in your journey — just beginning, already in treatment, or returning after time away — there's no wrong moment to start a conversation.

I'm here to listen first.
